Marco Gardin
Expert in EUDR compliance and traceability.
“I focus on making regulatory compliance workable and defensible, so responsible sourcing can genuinely protect forests.”
Background
Trained in forestry and supply chain certification, he has spent nearly two decades working on traceability, audit, and regulatory compliance within the timber and paper sectors. His early career focused on chain-of-custody certification, where he conducted and supervised numerous audits across Europe and internationally, developing a strong understanding of how compliance frameworks are assessed in practice. Over time, his work expanded beyond auditing to the design and structuring of compliance systems, supporting organizations facing increasing regulatory pressure related to timber legality, traceability, and risk management. Through this experience, he developed a strong conviction that regulatory compliance fails less because of missing rules than because of poorly structured information and weak documentary logic.
This perspective naturally led him to contribute to the creation of Supply Logica, where his focus lies in translating regulatory and audit requirements into structured, usable, and defensible compliance frameworks embedded within a software platform.
Expertise
He brings deep expertise in chain-of-custody certification, due diligence systems, and documentary traceability for regulated supply chains. His background as an auditor gives him a precise understanding of what makes evidence credible, consistent, and defensible under regulatory scrutiny.
By bridging audit logic, regulatory requirements, and operational realities, he contributes to the development of structured methodologies that help companies organize their data, manage risk, and demonstrate compliance in a robust and sustainable way.
